the odyssey continues (key word: odd)

On my recent return flight to St. George’s, I met an Egyptian who had dimples like Mario Lopez and was flying to Grenada to visit the university where I currently work.  He explained he was starting medical school there in January, so wanted to do a pre-visit to the island.  His name was Homer.

That evening, after landing and later arriving at my new apartment, I was handed a set of door keys by my new landlord.  Before bed, I picked up one of the two keys I had put on my nightstand. I stared at it. Engraved in small capital letters across the key head (bow) was the word HOMER.

The next day, at work, the receptionist came into my office to announce that a visitor had arrived to see me.  I walked out to the reception area. Homer said he had just been given a university tour and, having had the Psychological Services building pointed out, wanted to stop by to say hello.

Given I had mentioned my job during our conversation on the plane, and due also to other rationale (and some non rationales), I smiled at his epic dimples.

Upon return to my office, I reached for my bag to inspect the other house key.  It said UNION.
